Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Error Correction Theorist. Location: New Haven, Connecticut, USA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on quantum error correction for dual-rail cavity qubit architectures
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum computing techniques using erasure qubits
- Research error-correcting codes, lattice surgery, magic state preparation, decoders, and related QEC topics
- Investigate logical error rates and resource estimation for quantum error correction architectures
- Design and perform detailed, hardware-accurate simulations of novel QEC protocols;
- Contribute to the development of scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing technologies and the company's quantum roadmap
- Collaborate closely with experimental physicists and engineering teams on research and development projects
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Demonstrated research experience in quantum error correction, fault-tolerant protocols, or QEC simulations and modeling
- Proficiency in scientific programming using Python, Rust, Julia, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar languages;
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with experience working in interdisciplinary research environments
Benefits And Compensation:
- Annual base salary of $86,800 to $130,300 USD
