Job Description
Job Title: Quantum Research Scientist, Pathfinding. Location: Mountain View, CA, USA; San Francisco, CA, USA; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Goleta, CA, USA
You will collaborate with internal teams and external research programs to advance error-corrected quantum computation & contribute to the broader scientific community.
Duties:
- Identify promising applications for near-term and future quantum processors.
- Develop problem-solving methods and computational approaches for quantum dynamics.
- Design optimized experimental implementations and protocols for quantum applications;
- Perform theoretical and computational analysis of physical observables in quantum simulations.
- Develop strategies for quantum error mitigation and fault-tolerant computations.
- Collaborate on theory-experiment projects to validate and refine algorithms;
- Publish and share research findings with the broader scientific and technical community.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics, Quantum Information Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience with developing new numerical methods for quantum phenomena;
- At least three scientific publications in quantum computing, simulation, or many-body physics.
- Experience with quantum error correction, fault tolerance, and error mitigation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ for large-scale simulations;
- Experience developing research programs on quantum systems such as many-body systems, quantum chemistry, or open systems.
Benefits and Instructions:
- Base salary range: $166,000–$244,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location;
