Quantum Solutions Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Solutions Engineer. Location: Oxford, UK; Berlin, Germany

The position blends research, engineering, and customer engagement, helping bridge real-world use cases with practical quantum implementations.

Duties:

• Participate in each stage of customer engagement, including meetings, needs assessment, solution demonstrations, and ongoing technical support.
• Research and implement high-quality quantum computing solutions across different quantum technology platforms;
• Support integration of new solution features into Q-CTRL’s quantum infrastructure products.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports that communicate progress and technical outcomes;
• Work closely with teams across Quantum Research, Product, Engineering, and with external partners.
• Take on additional tasks aligned with your skills and experience, with training provided when needed.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, or at least 2 years of industry or research experience.
• Strong understanding of near-term algorithms and experience designing or adapting algorithm components for resource efficiency or hardware constraints.
• Programming experience in Python;
• Experience working across teams and communicating clearly in an international environment.
• Candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience may be considered for a senior title.

Preferred Experience:

• Implementing quantum applications in areas such as finance, logistics, chemistry, simulations, or drug discovery.
• Knowledge of classical optimization, quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning, simulations, or computational complexity.
• Experience running algorithms on hardware and familiarity with Qiskit.
