Job Description

Job Title: Principal Quantum Measurement Engineer. Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Job Type:

  • Full-time
  • Hybrid, with 3 days per week in office

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and run qubit experiments and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Lead collaboration across Quantum teams, including hardware, software, and algorithm groups, to efficiently use company expertise.
  • Seek, understand, and apply technical input across different technical fields;
  • Direct and deploy measurement techniques to advance quantum practices and devices.
  • Direct large-scale experimentation, data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting of results.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable quantum computing systems.
  • Embody the company’s culture and values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field plus significant industry or research and development experience.
  • OR Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field plus solid industry or research and development experience.
  • OR Doctorate in Physics, Engineering, or a related field plus industry or research and development experience.
  • Equivalent experience may also qualify;
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Must meet applicable export-control requirements and provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or another protected status when required.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for performance modeling, analysis, research gathering, and task automation.
  • Ability to design and build AI agents or copilots to assist with experiment setup, log triage, measurement report generation, protocol templating, and knowledge retrieval.

Preferred:

  • Noteworthy experience, including PhD experience, with experimental work involving spin qubits, superconducting qubits, or trapped-ion systems.
  • Noteworthy experience with data acquisition and programming in a high-level language such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience co-developing software in a version-controlled repository.
  • Experience with RF reflectometry measurements and time-domain control of qubits.
  • Experience using AI/ML tools to accelerate qubit bring-up and tuning;
  • Hands-on experimental experience operating multi-qubit systems.
  • Experience with the physics of Majorana bound states and topological properties of matter.
  • Hands-on experience with quantum characterization, verification, and validation (QCVV).
