Job Description
Job Title: Senior R&D Scientist. Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Responsibilities:
- Lead advanced testing strategies for SNSPD devices, with a focus on scalability and high throughput.
- Optimize existing device characterization methods, including potential transition to wafer-level testing.
- Develop and operate optical and cryogenic measurement setups for device characterization.
- Analyze complex datasets to guide device design and process improvements;
- Conduct experiments to understand performance limits and variability across devices and wafers.
- Collaborate with fabrication, packaging, and system teams to ensure testing is compatible with manufacturing processes.
- Document testing methodologies, results, and best practices in a structured and transferable format.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of experience in experimental physics or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experimental or engineering background.
- Experience testing and characterizing optical or photonic systems, such as optoelectronic devices or waveguides.
- Strong understanding of measurement science and metrology principles;
- Experience designing or improving experimental setups.
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to extract insights from complex measurements.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English. French is considered a plus.
Preferred:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in optics or photonics experimental work.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
