Senior Field Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Field Engineer - US Federal. Location: Remote, United States (with hybrid or onsite options in Maryland or Washington)

Responsibilities:

• Work with US federal and intelligence agencies to explain quantum computing solutions, strategy, and technical portfolio including compute, network, and security
• Lead client discussions and map business needs into quantum algorithms and real-world applications
• Build and execute proof-of-concepts with internal teams to demonstrate value
• Translate client requirements into technical solutions and collaborate with engineering and product teams
• Share customer feedback to improve products and features;
• Create technical assets and materials to explain quantum applications and systems
• Move projects from early ideas to production-ready workflows
• Lead discovery sessions to identify use cases for quantum solutions
• Support marketing, business development, and developer relations activities
• Attend conferences and represent the company in client-facing environments

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role
• Strong communication and client engagement skills with ability to explain complex topics clearly
• US Citizen with Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance required
• Experience working with US federal or intelligence agencies;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related STEM field
• Strong interest in quantum computing and mission-driven mindset

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in a STEM field
• Hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum SDKs
• Proficiency in Python and Jupyter Notebooks
• Experience designing full-stack technical architectures
• Background in leading technical events or customer engagements

• Base salary range: $192,979 to $252,659 per year plus bonus and equity

Other Information:

• Travel within the US required (around 20%) with some global travel opportunities
