Job Description
Job Title: Senior Technical Account Manager (Optimization). Location: Japan
Job Type: Full-time, Professional, Hybrid/Client-facing (30–50% travel)
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical engagements with APAC customers to integrate and deploy quantum computing solutions
- Present products to prospects, identify critical computational challenges, and map company value
- Deliver technical presentations at conferences, webinars, and seminars;
- Support marketing efforts and represent the company at industry events
- Hold technical meetings with clients during rollout, expansion, and support phases
- Build and maintain long-term technical relationships across project lifecycles
- Identify and recommend new projects leveraging D-Wave’s platform;
- Serve as a technical advisor on optimization, industry trends, and competitive positioning
- Communicate customer requirements internally and advocate for client needs
- Support discovery meetings to identify professional service opportunities
- Provide technical support through advisory services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field; advanced degree preferred
- Fluent in Japanese and English
- 5+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing roles (Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Presales, Solution Integrator, Customer Success)
- 2+ years hands-on Python programming experience in enterprise environments;
- Experience supporting clients in logistics, manufacturing, pharma, fintech, research, or education
- Strong foundation in optimization, algorithms, or applied mathematics
- Familiarity with tools like GitHub and REST APIs
- Proven ability to communicate technical content to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred:
- Familiarity with operations research techniques and tools
- Experience with project areas in logistics, scheduling, or resource allocation
- Quantum computing or AI/LLM experience is a plus;
- Project management experience is a plus
