Research Scientist - Quantum Computing

Job Description

Job Title: Research Scientist - Quantum Computing. Location: Singapore

The team focuses on developing quantum algorithms that solve real-world problems in biology, finance, chemistry, and optimization; This role offers the opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art quantum research and to collaborate with global experts across academia and industry.

Duties:

• Conduct research and development of new quantum algorithms for applications in science, finance, and engineering.
• Design and implement algorithms integrated with early fault-tolerant protocols and error-correction techniques.
• Perform resource estimation of quantum algorithms under real hardware constraints;
• Collaborate with partners and clients on algorithm co-development projects.
• Present and publish research findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals;
• Contribute to the advancement of Quantinuum’s quantum computing stack through applied research and experimentation.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven research background in quantum algorithms, error correction, or fault-tolerant quantum protocols.
• Knowledge of realistic noise models and practical constraints of quantum hardware;
• Hands-on experience implementing algorithms on simulators or hardware using frameworks like Qiskit or pytket.
• Strong programming skills in Python;
• Excellent communication skills and a record of scientific publications.
