Scientist - Quantum Error Correction

Job Description

Job Title: Research Scientist - Quantum Error Correction. Location: London, UK or Cambridge, UK

You will contribute to both theoretical research and practical development of QEC primitives, collaborating closely with hardware and software engineers while producing research publications & software libraries that advance quantum computing.

Duties:

  • Research and develop quantum error correction methods and fault-tolerant algorithms for real and simulated quantum systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to implement and optimize QEC techniques.
  • Develop and maintain software libraries that accelerate QEC research.
  • Produce and publish scientific papers in leading journals;
  • Stay current with the latest research and literature in quantum computing and QEC.
  • Participate actively in team discussions, seminars, and journal clubs.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field, or submission of thesis prior to starting.
  • Strong research record demonstrating ability to understand and contribute to QEC theory and practice.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey scientific ideas, verbally and in writing;
  • Experience in Python programming, with familiarity in high-performance languages such as C++, Julia, or Rust preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively within a collaborative research environment.
