Job Description

Job Title: Research Scientist, Quantum Error Correction, Quantum AI. Location: Multiple US locations: Goleta, CA; Cambridge, MA; Los Angeles, CA; Mountain View, CA; Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA

Responsibilities:

• Develop new quantum codes with high encoding rate, high distance, and strong hardware layout efficiency, including LDPC and yoked encoding schemes.
• Design and improve fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical gate operations.
• Adapt error correction circuits to hardware limits such as chip connectivity and modular architectures.
• Analyze performance tradeoffs in high-connectivity platforms using superconducting qubits;
• Simulate quantum codes under realistic noise models and evaluate decoding accuracy.
• Improve decoding algorithms for high-connectivity codes.
• Publish research findings and contribute to the global research community.
• Collaborate with partner universities and technical institutes worldwide.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven research publications in quantum error correction.
• At least 1 year of experience leading or initiating research agendas is preferred.

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: $141,000 to $202,000 plus bonus, equity, and full benefits.
