Job Title: Senior Quantum Research Lead. Location: Remote (EU, UK, Switzerland)

Job Type: Full-Time, Research Leadership

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute an applied quantum research roadmap focused on identifying high-impact industrial use cases.
  • Design, implement, and benchmark quantum and hybrid algorithms against classical baselines.
  • Evaluate quantum advantage across domains such as optimization, quantum chemistry, materials simulation, and quantum machine learning.
  • Maintain deep understanding of quantum hardware constraints including noise models, gate fidelities, connectivity, and coherence limits.
  • Translate research outputs into reproducible code, datasets, benchmarks, and internal platform libraries.
  • Write clean, well-documented research code suitable for production integration by engineering teams;
  • Publish peer-reviewed research papers and contribute to patent development and intellectual property creation.
  • Lead and mentor a research team of up to five members, including direction setting and technical review of work.
  • Collaborate on client-facing proof-of-concept projects when required to support technical discussions.
  • Continuously track advancements in quantum computing and integrate relevant developments into the platform.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Quantum Computing, Quantum Physics, Quantum Chemistry, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in quantum algorithms, quantum simulation, and error mitigation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of quantum hardware systems including noise behavior, gate sets, and device architectures.
  • Proven publication record in quantum computing or related research fields.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with quantum software frameworks;
  • Experience leading or mentoring research teams.
  • Ability to translate technical research into commercial value and product features.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred:

  • Experience with quantum chemistry tools such as PySCF or OpenFermion.
  • Patent filing or intellectual property development experience;
  • Background in industry research labs or applied quantum computing companies.
  • Familiarity with classical machine learning and optimization for benchmarking.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients or technical sales teams.
