Job Description

Job Title: Research Scientist – Quantum Algorithms for Differential Equations. Location: Dublin, Ireland

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine quantum algorithms for solving classical differential equations using Hamiltonian and dissipative simulations.
  • Construct block-encodings of discretized operators and apply LCU, QSP/SVT, and qubitization techniques.
  • Formalize oracles and data access models for operator sparsity, boundary conditions, and state preparation;
  • Analyze query and gate complexity, robustness, and precision while benchmarking quantum pipelines against classical baselines.
  • Estimate fault-tolerant resources including qubit count, T-count, and depth under error-correction assumptions.
  • Collaborate with the quantum information, numerical algorithms, and dynamical systems communities, contributing to publications and open-source projects.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Quantum Information, Quantum Algorithms, Theoretical Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience with at least two of Hamiltonian simulation, LCU/QSP/SVT/qubitization, amplitude amplification, or query/gate complexity analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Qiskit; ability to rapidly adapt to new software tools.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of quantum algorithm design and implementation;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interacting with internal teams and external researchers.

Preferred:

  • Publications in top-tier journals in quantum algorithms or information.
  • Experience with fault-tolerant resource estimation and surface-code logical qubits.
  • Knowledge of numerical analysis concepts like conditioning and preconditioning for benchmarking.
  • Hands-on experience with collaborative workflows (Git/GitHub) and quantum demonstrations.
  • Ability to contribute to proposals, grants, and community engagement activities.

Benefits / Instructions:

  • Work onsite in Dublin, Ireland with potential travel as required.
  • Join a leading research environment driving breakthroughs in quantum computing and HPC;
