RF Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: RF Design Engineer. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

• Design electromechanical components for next-generation quantum processors and QPUs
• Work on PCB, housing, shielding, and cryogenic-compatible mechanical structures
• Solve microwave engineering challenges such as impedance matching, insertion loss, and crosstalk
• Collaborate with simulation teams to validate and improve hardware models;
• Integrate hardware designs into automated workflows and engineering codebases
• Develop Python-based scripts to automate design generation and design rule checks
• Support development of large-scale 3D quantum hardware architectures

Qualifications:

• MSc in RF Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience with EM simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS
• Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks, Autodesk, or similar platforms;
• Solid understanding of transmission lines, S-parameters, and impedance analysis
• Proficiency in Python for automation and design workflows

Preferred:

• Experience with RF circuit components such as filters, couplers, and attenuators
• Familiarity with superconducting or cryogenic quantum hardware;
• Experience in high-density interconnects or 3D packaging systems
• Hands-on experience with RF measurement tools such as VNA
