Fabrication Engineer Quantum Processors

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Fabrication Engineer Quantum Processors. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Job Type: Full-time, on-site (hybrid flexibility not specified but likely on-site focused)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D activities from early concept through prototyping to manufacturable quantum fabrication processes
  • Contribute hands-on to development of quantum hardware where needed
  • Guide and mentor engineers working on advanced fabrication techniques
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors and manage outsourced development work
  • Ensure integration of external technologies into quantum processor designs;
  • Allocate resources and coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts
  • Align technical priorities with company objectives and product roadmap
  • Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and engineering excellence in a fast-moving scale-up environment

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in physics, electronics, materials science, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in semiconductor or hardware R&D;
  • Experience delivering solutions to complex technical engineering challenges
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication or process development

Preferred:

  • Experience with semiconductor processing, chip integration, TSV, flip-chip, wafer-level technologies
  • Experience in fabrication of superconducting qubits;
  • Knowledge of thermal management, mechanical stress, and reliability in complex systems
  • Experience working in semiconductor or quantum hardware scaling environments

Leadership Skills:

  • Proven experience leading R&D teams or projects in hardware or semiconductor fields
  • Strong communication skills for technical and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to manage ambiguity in early-stage technology development;
  • Experience building scalable engineering processes in startup or scale-up environments
  • Coaching, mentoring, and team development experience
  • Strong collaboration, structure, and problem-solving mindset
