Senior Quantum Software Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Software Engineer. Location: Onsite - Santa Clara, CA. Remote - USA

You will play a key role in expanding NVIDIA’s quantum computing platform and enabling high-performance computing solutions used worldwide.

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance libraries and APIs using C++ and Python for accelerated and distributed quantum computing.
• Lead new features from design through production, including testing, debugging, optimization, and documentation.
• Prototype and evaluate new quantum algorithms and transition successful concepts into production-ready software;
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability through modern software architecture and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, researchers, and external partners to define requirements and technical roadmaps.
• Communicate technical designs, benchmarks, and best practices through documentation, reviews, and technical discussions.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of industry or academic experience in quantum circuit simulation and large-scale software projects;
• Strong experience with C++ and/or Python, including GPU acceleration and parallel computing models such as CUDA and MPI.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization, debugging, and scalable software design.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Benefits and Instructions:

• Base salary range: $152,000–$218,500 (Level 3) or $184,000–$287,500 (Level 4), depending on experience and level.
