Job Description

Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect. Location: Japan

Job Type: Full-time, Professional, Client-facing/Hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Build customer applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools
• Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve business value for customers
• Gather requirements, lead brainstorming sessions, and consult with customers on potential solutions
• Model use cases mathematically and design hybrid quantum applications;
• Communicate capabilities clearly and propose solutions to customer problems
• Build and maintain relationships with leaders across D-Wave and external clients
• Share project insights with tools and product teams to help prioritize new features
• Organize, prepare, and present technical information effectively;
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging work environment

Qualifications:

• Masters, PhD, or equivalent in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field preferred
• 3–5 years experience with Python; familiarity with Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is a bonus
• Business proficiency in English and Japanese;
• Experience working directly with external customers, ideally in consulting or technical advisory roles
• Familiarity with leading optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi
• Knowledge of mathematical modeling and optimization solution techniques
• Practical understanding of project delivery and problem-solving in business contexts
• Experience with version control tools such as Git;
• Ability to provide technical leadership from problem definition to solution implementation
• Proven record of successful on-time project delivery
• Industry experience in Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail Services preferred
