Job Description
Job Title: Signal and Power Integrity/System Hardware Developer Engineer. Location: Rochester, Minnesota, United States
You will work on hardware validation, modeling, and lab measurements that directly support IBM’s Quantum brand and future system designs.
Duties:
- Perform signal and power integrity analysis on pre-production hardware using electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools.
- Validate and improve system performance through transient and frequency-domain simulations;
- Execute laboratory verification and characterization to support model-to-hardware correlation.
- Perform lab measurements using oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzers, VNAs, and TDRs.
- Collaborate with global engineering and leadership teams to meet aggressive product schedules.
- Support innovation in design and development processes using Agile workflows;
- Contribute to high-level design support, early hardware analysis, and system validation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of industry experience in signal and power integrity analysis.
- Strong understanding of transmission line theory, digital signal processing, RF design, and PCB materials.
- Hands-on experience with signal and power integrity tools such as ANSYS and Cadence.
- Familiarity with microprocessor and ASIC first-level packaging and hardware development.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills;
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with Python, C++, MATLAB, Perl, or similar languages is a plus.
