Job Description
Job Title: Software Developer - R&D Tooling. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain simulation tooling, data management systems, and communication software for hardware development
- Support chip designers with PDK and tapeout development, ensuring strong software practices and documentation
- Collaborate with photonic engineers, scientists, and analysts to develop solutions for quantum hardware systems
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code review processes for reliable production systems;
- Develop full-stack web applications, dashboards, and service frontends
Qualifications:
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Product-focused mindset with ability to deliver high-quality solutions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new domains
Preferred:
- Experience with simulation or EDA tools for integrated photonics or chip design
- Experience with optical or multi-physics simulations such as FDTD or FEM
- Experience with Python-based CI/CD workflows;
- Experience with cloud platforms
Benefits And Compensation:
- Base salary range: 110,000 to 140,000 CAD per year
