Software Developer - R&D Tooling

Job Description

Job Title: Software Developer - R&D Tooling. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain simulation tooling, data management systems, and communication software for hardware development
  • Support chip designers with PDK and tapeout development, ensuring strong software practices and documentation
  • Collaborate with photonic engineers, scientists, and analysts to develop solutions for quantum hardware systems
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code review processes for reliable production systems;
  • Develop full-stack web applications, dashboards, and service frontends

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Python
  • Product-focused mindset with ability to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new domains

Preferred:

  • Experience with simulation or EDA tools for integrated photonics or chip design
  • Experience with optical or multi-physics simulations such as FDTD or FEM
  • Experience with Python-based CI/CD workflows;
  • Experience with cloud platforms

Benefits And Compensation:

  • Base salary range: 110,000 to 140,000 CAD per year
  • Eligibility for equity and company benefits;
