Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineering Manager, Quantum AI. Job Location: Goleta, CA, USA

The position is focused on accelerating research in quantum algorithms and hardware access through scalable, high-quality platforms and APIs.

Duties:

• Manage a team of 4-6 engineers responsible for building and maintaining the quantum research platform.
• Collaborate with researchers, product teams, and other managers to define roadmaps and prioritize technical work.
• Oversee delivery of software infrastructure that provides access to quantum hardware;
• Implement features and maintain open source and internal APIs for the quantum software ecosystem.
• Ensure high-quality software interfaces and seamless integration across multiple teams;
• Guide and mentor engineers, providing technical direction and leadership to optimize performance and workflow.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in software development with 3+ years in full-stack development, including back-end (Java, Python, Golang, C++) and front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS);
• 2+ years of experience in team leadership or people management roles.
• Familiarity with libraries such as Cirq, Qiskit, OpenFermion, numpy, scipy, sympy, pandas, protocol buffers, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience leading or maintaining open source projects, research frameworks, or technical platforms;
• Knowledge of machine learning, distributed systems, quantum simulation, quantum chemistry, linear algebra, or quantum physics is preferred.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field is a plus.

Benefits and Instructions:

• Base salary range: $197,000–$291,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
