Sr. Technical Project Manager, Software

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Technical Project Manager, Software. Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage delivery of key functionality for the Quantum Operating System software stack.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams across software, systems integration, and engineering.
  • Align software deliverables with overall business goals and multi product timelines;
  • Provide strategic leadership in project planning, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Identify risks early, create mitigation plans, and ensure projects are properly resourced.
  • Verify architecture, design, and test plans to meet deadlines and quality standards.;
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and reporting for stakeholders.
  • Remove obstacles, assign tasks, and ensure smooth execution of critical technical projects.
  • Communicate project status clearly, including risks and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in deep tech sectors such as quantum computing, robotics, aerospace, or similar.
  • Experience managing complex software projects in high performing technical teams.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams in fast paced environments;
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Project management certification.
  • Working knowledge of quantum computing principles and technologies;
  • Experience with tools such as GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or SmartSheet.
