Job Description
Job Title: Principal, Commercial Contracts (Quantum Computing). Location: London, United Kingdom
Responsibilities:
- Own the full commercial contracting process from intake to execution, amendments, and renewals
- Act as the main commercial owner for complex and high-value customer and partner agreements
- Draft, review, and negotiate pricing models, milestones, delivery obligations, SLAs, IP-related commercial terms, and renewals
- Ensure contracts reflect technical scope, delivery timelines, and customer readiness in coordination with Product, Engineering, and Technical teams
- Support non-standard and bespoke agreements such as multi-year, milestone-based, usage-based, and pilot-to-production deals
- Work closely with Legal to escalate non-standard risks and policy exceptions;
- Partner with Finance on milestones, billing schedules, revenue timing, and contract updates
- Maintain accurate contract data in CLM and CRM systems
- Improve and scale contracting templates, playbooks, and internal processes
- Support renewals, change orders, expansions, and customer scaling
- Advise Sales and commercial stakeholders on timelines, risks, and best practices
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in commercial contracts management, deal support, or commercial operations in B2B technology or enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise contract structures and commercial terms
- Experience supporting complex, high-value, and non-standard deals
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Clear communication skills with technical, commercial, and executive teams
- Experience using CLM tools and CRM systems
Preferred:
- Experience in deep-tech sectors such as quantum computing, AI/ML, semiconductors, robotics, advanced hardware, or scientific software
- Familiarity with milestone-based delivery and R&D-driven products
- Experience working with government, enterprise, or research-focused customers
- Exposure to IP-sensitive commercial arrangements
- Experience improving contracting processes in scaling or pre-commercial organizations
- Ability to balance commercial urgency with risk awareness and operational feasibility
