Quantum Compiler Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Compiler Engineer. Location: Broomfield, CO, USA
Type: Full-time (Hybrid, up to 2 remote days per week)

Duties:

  • Develop and improve compiler components such as front-end quantum languages, mid-level optimization passes, and hardware-aware backends.
  • Benchmark and optimize compiler execution, focusing on performance, correctness, and robustness;
  • Design and implement compilers targeting real-time and distributed quantum execution environments.
  • Collaborate with physicists and engineers to solve complex multi-disciplinary problems;
  • Write clean, maintainable code in an R&D and prototyping environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an engineering, lab, or R&D setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of programming experience with Python, C++, Rust, or similar languages.
  • Coursework in compiler fundamentals;
  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder).
  • Must not be a national of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  • Strong understanding of compiler design and optimization;
  • Experience with LLVM, optimization algorithms, or heuristic approaches;
  • Background in algorithm development, including graph, tree, or machine learning algorithms.
  • Rust development experience and familiarity with rapid prototyping tools.
  • Experience building scalable and reliable software systems.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $105,000 to $175,000 per year.
