Senior Field Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Field Engineer. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (onsite, hybrid, or remote within Canada)

Responsibilities:

• Explain quantum computing strategy, portfolio, and applications to prospective clients, including compute, networking, security, sensing, and space
• Lead client discussions and map business needs into quantum algorithms and real-world applications;
• Build and execute proof-of-concepts with application teams across domains like finance, chemistry, optimization, and AI
• Translate client requirements into technical projects and collaborate with engineering and product teams
• Share customer feedback to improve quantum solutions and product development
• Handle competitive discussions and guide clients from ideation to production workflows
• Create technical assets and materials to explain product features and use cases
• Lead discovery sessions to identify opportunities for quantum algorithm development;
• Partner with marketing, business development, and developer relations to expand market awareness
• Attend industry events, support client engagements, and contribute to conferences
• Travel up to 20 percent domestically and internationally

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or STEM fields such as Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles or similar positions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Strong interest in quantum computing and emerging technologies

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in a STEM field related to quantum computing
• Experience working on the customer side across different industries
• Hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum SDKs
• Proficiency in Python and Jupyter Notebooks;
• Strong full-stack or system architecture skills
• Experience leading technical events or workshops
