Job Description

Job Title: Team Lead - IBM Canada Communications. Location: Markham, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

You will lead a team of communications professionals to deliver impactful messaging aligned with business objectives.

Duties:

• Develop and execute a holistic communications strategy aligned with IBM Canada’s business goals.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of communications professionals;
• Collaborate with business leadership, sales, and marketing teams to ensure messaging consistency.
• Act as a trusted advisor on brand stewardship, issues management, and communications strategy;
• Translate complex technical and business concepts, including AI and quantum initiatives, into clear, engaging content.
• Manage multiple priorities with agility and precision.
• Support collaboration with Canadian and Americas teams to advance IBM’s leadership in AI, Hybrid Cloud, and Quantum Computing.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English; French is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Effective project management skills with a fast, accurate, and deadline-driven approach;
• Knowledge of the tech industry and Canadian media landscape, including government and financial sectors.
• Familiarity with AI, Hybrid Cloud, and Quantum technologies.
• Experience in external or executive communications, media relations, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
• Creativity, curiosity, and resilience to innovate and adapt in a dynamic environment;
• Familiarity with tools such as Brandwatch, Cision, AirTable, Marketo, and communications measurement methods is preferred.
