Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager, Programs Group. Location: London / Cambridge, UK

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of complex scientific projects, ensuring clear objectives, scope, milestones, and governance
• Translate scientific objectives into actionable plans and manage workflow across multiple research teams
• Ensure progress, risks, and decisions are visible to both internal leadership and customers;
• Allocate resources across the Programs team and coach team members to maintain delivery discipline
• Define and maintain team reporting approaches, ensuring consistent and high-quality updates
• Sustain communication channels across research, commercial, and customer teams
• Run retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in projects and team practices;
• Personally lead high-priority or strategically critical programs
• Act as the primary contact for project status, delivery commitments, and customer programs

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
• 5+ years managing complex research programs with successful outcomes
• Experience leading or mentoring project or program managers in a technical environment

Preferred:

• PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
• Exposure to quantum technologies
• Experience managing customer relationships and delivering complex projects
• Strong stakeholder management and influence skills;
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for clear communication of complex ideas
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
