Solutions Architect - Healthcare & Life Science

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Solutions Architect - Healthcare & Life Science. Location: Basel, Switzerland; Göteborg, Sweden

You will help clients understand how IonQ’s trapped-ion systems and quantum applications can solve real problems in medicine and life sciences; while supporting IonQ’s growth and market presence in the region.

Duties:

• Explain IonQ’s technology roadmap and answer technical questions about quantum computers and applications.
• Lead discussions with healthcare and life science clients to identify meaningful quantum use cases.
• Translate customer business needs into clear technical proposals with internal teams;
• Create sales and enablement materials that explain IonQ products and features.
• Develop thought leadership content tailored to healthcare and life science practitioners.
• Share customer feedback with hardware and applications teams to improve products.
• Support sales activities by guiding prospects through the sales funnel.
• Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities for IonQ systems and applications.
• Lead client workshops to inspire new engagements and solution ideas;
• Partner with marketing, developer relations, and business development teams.
• Attend and speak at industry conferences to represent IonQ and share success stories.
• Travel up to 40 percent for client meetings and global events.

Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of experience in technical sales or technical leadership roles.
• 10 or more years of experience in healthcare and life sciences.
• Master’s degree or higher in a STEM field such as chemistry or physics;
• Strong interest in quantum computing and ability to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Hands-on experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum SDKs is a strong plus;
• Proficiency in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and high-performance computing preferred.
• PhD and experience leading technical events are considered strong advantages.
