HR Generalist, UK & EMEA

Job Description

Job Title: Job Location: Palo Alto, California, United States (covers UK & EMEA for this role)

This fixed-term role supports HR operations, systems, and administration for a fast-growing quantum computing company, ensuring alignment with global HR standards while supporting employees in multiple locations.

Duties:

• Deliver core HR functions including payroll coordination, onboarding, and offboarding across the UK and EMEA.
• Maintain and update HR policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation and best practices.
• Contribute to efficient HR processes and continuous improvement of operational systems;
• Support assessment and management of benefit offerings and pension plans for the workforce.
• Maintain HRIS platforms such as ADP and Globalization Partners, ensuring accurate and compliant data.
• Partner with HR managers to establish coverage across multiple time zones and regions;
• Serve as first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and professional guidance.
• Drive process automation and digital efficiency within HR operations.
• Maintain accurate employee records including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of HR experience in multi-location organizations, preferably in hardware or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European employment law; APAC experience is a plus;
• Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and make independent decisions;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience interacting across diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR data responsibly.
