What is the difference between quantum security and quantum cryptography?

The main idea of quantum security is to protect systems from the risks created by quantum computers. It focuses on keeping data and networks safe in a future where quantum machines are more powerful. In this field, quantum cryptography uses principles of quantum physics to secure data. It applies these rules to protect information from being intercepted or hacked.  In this sense, think of quantum security as an entire house, with quantum cryptography providing a robust set of protections. Most current research efforts are focused on post-quantum cryptography, which is the development of new techniques for encryption that will resist quantum assault.

Do I need a security clearance for quantum security jobs?

What is the difference between PQC and QKD?

Post-quantum cryptography, or PQC, is a new form of security that uses advanced mathematics to protect, process, and secure information, and it is already functional on standard classical computers, which is why its adoption is so rapid. Quantum key distribution, or QKD, is very different from traditional security methods. It uses tiny particles of light to share secret encryption keys.

Entry-level roles often pay between $80,000 and $110,000 per year. Mid-level professionals usually earn between $120,000 and $140,000. Senior experts can earn $140,000 to $200,000 or more. Finance and defense companies often pay the highest salaries. Government jobs may pay slightly less but offer strong benefits and stability.
